Introspective
run along little strawberry man,
chase your dream so vivved without delay
though no one seem to quite understand,
the price you'd be willing to pay
the work that you lay before them,
so hard it causes frustration.
that on the alter you sacrifice
your happiness without any consideration
you tell yourself joy is only meant
for simple and ordinary folk
to strive for it means to see your hopes
of glory just go up in smoke.
a simple view my dear strawberry man,
that suffering is a measure for success
so proud you can see the hard truth,
finally free from the lies clutches
so you stand by yourself,
hoping beliefs can keep you warm.
that truth is a universal,
final and undisputed light deep inside the swarm
yet they hold it against you,
loved ones with personal views so askew.
they talk, they yell, but then they leave,
even your precious few
you thank yourself for your perseverance,
you routed out the ignorance
you reward yourself with confidence,
throws aside your innocence
in the end nothing stands before your truth,
you proudly hold the philosopher's stone.
only your truth persist, no one stands against
nor beside you, a single golden throne
and there you sit, dear strawberry man,
all righteous, all knowing, all alone.
