Midnight Shenanigans

As midnight sets outside my window, the sounds of the city, the sounds of life, is muffled down, silenced oh so ever so. I sit there amidst the clamor of stillness, which threatens to take me, my mind on the verge of bitter insanity, jumping into infinity. Its howl fills the room, creeps across the floor, on the walls, on the ceiling, staring at me, from above, from behind, with its pitch black eyes, filling me with doubt, planting unwanted, unwelcome thoughts of yesterdays failure.
Scram dark beast, leave me be and take flight, must you take what I don’t possess, what I can’t possess, mock me with your silent grin and dark, morbid, eyes. I stare back, back in defiance, as much as one can, for if I first stop staring the beast will surely take me, but it frightens me, it hurts me, with its eyes of broken dreams and vows. I fight it on and fight it still, but each day I fight more and more, and with their eyes of disgust and terror, my eyes seems to evade their glare, they dare not stare.
Through the dark, through the room, I walk and tremble lightly, until I find the window frame, with might i push it wide. As I stand on the sill up high, I feel the cold wind calling, through my hair, through my heart, it whispers lies so sweet. I take one step, out in the dark, the wind would surely catch me, and as my feet they leave the sill, I hear the scream of silence.
No one saw, as no one sees, the body that flew straight down, left by none, found by all, on the street to be undone...
